How To Treat A Bump Leading To Redness At The Ridge Of Eye Socket?

I got punched in the face about a 2 weeks ago, it was a pretty hard hit and while the black eye is gone, there is still a hard bump at the ridge of the eye socket underneath my eye. It s tender, swollen and red and has a cut across which has healed but apparently it should ve gotten stitches. Is this prone to infection or do I need to have this drained?

Dear welcome to HCM and thanks for choosing us.

I share your concerns about infection. In my opinion It is a blood clot and most probably got infected also. You are right, you should have got this stitched.

I would strongly recommend that you get it drained. It will remove possible infection and healing will be faster. You may need a course of antibiotics, painkillers and dressing of the wound for few days.

I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us or me for more questions. I wish you good health and rapid recovery. Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
