How To Stop Hair Growth At The Site Of Pilonidal Cyst Removal?

After pilonidal cyst, i never had my stitches removed and now they have grown into a skin covering my buttline, which then has hairs I have to shave almost everyday. It has been 10years since my surgery, where the pilonidal cyst was removed, but why is there still hairs growing? and also, can I get my buttcrack reshaped before???

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of hair removal at the pilonidal site, my treatment advice is :

1. Avoid using hair removal cream or razor at that site.
2. Apply an Eflora cream twice daily on it.
3. Only curative treatment is hair removal by laser done by a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
