How To Remove Brown Spots On Face Which Are Unsightly?

Hi, I am 67 years old and I have brown spots on my face which are very unsightly. Is there anything you can do to remove them? I have Medicare and GEHA as my secondary so I need to have a Dr. who will accept my insurance. Is that a problem with removal of these spots?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of either Freckles OR Seborrheic keratosis. While freckes are flat brown macules most commonly on sun exposed areas like nose and cheeks, Seborrheic keratosis are slightly raised lesions which give a stuck-on appearance onto the skin. They are also most common on sun exposed areas like face, arms etc.

Treatment is destruction/vaporisation with either CO2 Laser OR Radiofrequency cautery.

I would advice that you see a dermatologist for the most suitable method of removal out of these and that which is covered by your medical insurance

regards
