How To Remove A Piece Of Balloon Stuck In Throat?

Inhaled helium from a balloon to make my son laugh. It was a mylar balloon and I feel like I got a small piece of it stuck on the back of my throat. Very anxious! I can drink water, I even gargled and nothing came up. It feels tight and still feels something is stuck. Breathing fine though.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Try using nasal saline spray (you can buy this at the pharmacy). This may flush it down if it is in the back of the throat. If drinking water, gargling and nasal flushes with saline do not work then you may need to see a doctor. I may be that the mylar just made a small cut and that is what you are feeling but if your symptoms do not resolve see a doctor. If you get any shortness of breath to immediately to emergency
Regards
