How To Reduce Weight When Undergoing ILD Treatment?

Hi.. I have question to ask regarding my Mom. She is 55 aged, 4.75" and weighs 80kgs. She is undergoing treatment for ILD for past 1 year. As her tablets are mostly steroids she is gaining more and more weight. So because of her weight the ILD is also not improving and getting more complicated. She is residing in India. Is there any way to reduce her weight apart from Surgery. Please Kindly Advice..Thank u!Regards,Sumathy

With ILD weight reduction is little difficult because of steroids but weight management can be done. Try to give her controlled calories and protein in her diet, which is the best way to manage weight. Split these calories into 6 to 7 meals including fibres. Along with diet encourage her to do breathing exercise as well as a little bit of movements as per her comfort zone. She will start managing weight gradually, increase activity for weight reduction.
