How To Reduce Pain In Finger While Bending?

My left index finger hurts when bent, when i wrap my hand around something, grip something, make a fist, or hold it straight and hurts when i put pressure on my hand or pinch my finger. There s no swelling or noticeable deformity but it does bend like i have never seen it do before. I don t know how i hurt it, it s hurt for a week, but today the pain has been very noticeable. What should i do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

This could be either due to soft tissue injury or tendinitis of the left index finger's interphalangeal joint.

But needs to be evaluated further by clinical examination of the finger and x-ray scan to rule out fracture.

You should take over the counter pain killers with short course of antibiotics like droxyl 500 mg with warm compression and crepe bandage.

If there is no fracture then it may get subsided within 7 to 10 days with this treatment.

So,it would be better you consult doctor preferably orthopaedician who can prescribe you above treatment.

Regards,
