How To Reduce Itching Due To Red Welt On The Thighs?

Hello, my son is 28 months old and weighs about 28 pounds. He has a red welt about 4-5 inches in diameter on the inner right top of his thigh. It started suddenly yesterday morning and he kept scratching it. He had pants on so I didn t think it was a bite. I ve been putting cortisone cream but it doesn t seem to help much. Is there anything besides benadryl that I could give him? Thank you

Hello,

Apply cool compresses to soothe irritation and reduce itching. Oatmeal baths help, too.

Use OTC hydro-cortisone creams or antihistamines (with your doctor's approval) to help relieve itching. Avoid anything you think may be irritating your skin.

If it's not getting away I suggest you to visit our doctor for a complete checkup.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
