Hi, my question is about my younger brother who has developed intense black spots on his face. They look like an allergy reaction, says he got them after being bitten by a bed bug. We have not found any solution to his problem, he has not seen a skin specialist either and the general practitioner only gave him some aqueous cream to apply however it doesn t seem to be having any positive effect in alleviating the problem. Kindly advise Regards Desiree, South Africa
There may be post inflammatory hypermelanosis. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would recommend you to give him tab vitamin C 500 mg thrice a day. Apply kojic acid containing gel on the face at night. Tell him to use sunscreen cream during the day time. Cleanse the face with soap containing kojic acid.
