Welcome to HCM.
VDRL is a non-specific test and can be reactive in conditions other than Syphilis also. This is called as Biological false positive and the titre usually remains lower than 8 in BFP. Syphilis has to be confirmed with more specific test like TPHA or FTA ABS test. The treatment depends upon the duration of Syphilis whether it remains as early or late. Consult your physician for confirmation and specific treatment. Partners also have to examined and treated.
