As per Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) for Indians, the normal body weight for children between 1-3 year old is 12.9kg. So for your three year old, 12kg body weight is adequate.

Make sure to introduce him foods from all food groups to obtain all nutrients needed: Cereals, Vegetables (Green leafy vegetables and other green vegetables) and Fruits, Milk and Dairy products, Legumes, Eggs, Nuts, poultry, fish and meat, fats and oils and some sugars.
