How To Improve Skin Condition With Change In Climate?

I have always had clear skin as a young teenager and have been using proactive since I was 13. My skin has given me no problems until I moved from St. Louis, Missouri to west Texas. It started getting bad even though I was still using proactive so I switched to a different skin care line (didn t work). Then I got a prescription from my doctor, which didn t work. Then I went back to proactive and my skin still has not changed. Back in St. Louis the weather is more humid and the weather here in west Texas is dry, windy, and dusty. Is it possible the different climate change is affecting my skin?

Hi,

Yes, climate change can affect your skin. Moving to an area with a different climate can cause your skin to react differently due to changes in humidity, temperature, and other environmental factors. In dry and windy areas like West Texas, the lack of moisture in the air can cause your skin to become dehydrated, leading to an increase in acne or other skin issues.

To improve your skin condition, you may want to consider adapting your skincare routine to better suit the new climate. For example, if your skin is becoming dry and flaky, you may want to use a more hydrating moisturizer or switch to a gentler cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils.

Additionally, you can try using a humidifier in your home or workplace to add moisture to the air and keep your skin hydrated. It's also important to protect your skin from the sun by using broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 and wearing protective clothing like hats and long-sleeved shirts.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
