How To Handle A Person With Oedipus Complex?

yes wondering if my boyfriend of over 4yrs is Oedipus complex. Cause all the woman he has ever been with his mother always hates them. And she really seems really jealous of me. She hated the front time when he put his hands on my hips thought it was gross and should be ashamed. She also, when I slept over her house in his bed she came in room in morning and was kept pushing on my bellie and thought that was really strange. One time at there cabin me and him up there for 2 days and she called him 26 times in one day saying get home u belong here with me. another time she stopped me and told me why don t I stay away from him that she owns him and his body belongs to her. another thing she made his bed wel the one time I saw and it was so hot and luscious and when I went to take a pic of it he hurried and ripped the covers down. I just wonder and I really think something sick with them 2. and he tells her EVERYTHING about his business and he is 52 yrs old and still lives with his mom and she never wants him to settle down and move out. which I feel is very strange. What do u suggest. also, he is always wanting to be home instead of with me like he wants her.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I think that it is a case of Jocasta complex, where the mother has an abnormal sexual attachment towards her son. In such cases, the mother thinks every female coming in contact of her son as her rival. Unconsciously and jealously, such patients do not want their son to be intimate with any other female not even his sisters. These are complex issues, related to psycho-analytical theory of Sigmund Freud and really hard to be treated and need intensive treatment by a psychiatrist for their resolution.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
