How To Ease Pain In Groin Due To Varicocele?

my husband has been diagnosed with varicocele. His symptom was serious pain in the groin area, especially his testicles and especially if he lifted anything. His doctor performed surgery, not sure what he did but he told my husband if may not help and could possibly get worse. My husband was desperate to try anything because the pain is so bad. Is there anything else my husband should do to help this? It has been 1 1/2 weeks since surgery and he is still in a lot of pain.

Hello
Thanks for query.

Your husband was diagnosed to have grade 3 Varicocele and operated 10 days back .

The pain he has now is due to inflammation at the site of surgery which is a normal response of body to surgical trauma.

He needs to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily for 2 -3 weeks by which time the inflammation is bound to subside and give him relief from pain.
