How To Distinguish Between Implantation Bleeding And Menstruation?

My husband and I are trying to conceive our first child. I m no longer on the pill, I ve been off the pill for a month. We had intercourse during my ovulation days on June 7-10th. I m not sure if I m experiencing my period or implantation bleeding. My period usually lasts 5 days but this time it only lasted for about 2.5 days and abruptly stopped. It was a dark reddish color. I ve also gained about 3.5 lbs within the last month. Is pregnancy a high possibility?!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
I can understand your concern.there is a very low chance of you getting pregnant in the immediate cycle after stopping of the contraceptive pills. Due to the stoppage of the pills you are gettting the bleed. This is the normal menstrual bleed. I would advise you to wait for a couple of cycles to regularise the cycle and then try for conception. In this way the ova would also be healthy.
Hope you are satisfied with the response. Thanks for choosing HCM
