How To Diagnose Chest Pain?

How to diagnose chest pain? I told my GP doctor that I am having this problem many times when walking. So he had me to a ECG test which showed no adverse results. I spoke to a cardiologist who told me I should be undergoing a stress test as she suspects I am having an angina problem. So the cardiologist gave me a couple prescriptions for statin drugs that I was afraid to take so did not get them filled; and did not take the stress tests either. I started taking liguid Hawthorne, and Citrulline, Argenine and Carnitine as natural supplements. Do you think I should be taking nitroglycerin? Julius 250-595-0354 YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
If you have risk factors for coronary artery disease (hypertension, older age, male, family history of heart disease, high cholesterol, diabetes) then you need a stress test. Chest pain with exercise is very concerning. It would be best for you to get the stress test to see if you have heart disease before you begin supplements
