How To Deal With Fecal Soiling In A 11 Year Old?

Why would my 11 year old grandson still soil his pull-up. He is a A and B student. Very personable and out going. My daughter was told....when he was about 5 at Children's hospital in Cincinatti that he had a kink in his intestines, but they did not think it would cause a problem as long as his stool stayed soft. He was sent tl The Children's hospital to have a mobility test done. We live near Atlanta, GA. There was no doctor / hospital near here that had the equipment for a small child. While there, they did a colonoscopy. They had to stop because the lining of his colon was sluffing off. He had extensive other test while he was there. Up until he was about 6,he had a cecostomy . The parents had to put liquid with Golightly in. He would instantly go to the bathroom and empty colon. He had several surgeries because his body kept rejecting the material of the tubes. He will be going to middle school next year. It would emotionally crush his spirit if some classmates found out he wears a pull up. He knows this. Sometimes he says he didn't know he had to go and sometimes he did go. Several trials at home have been tried. About every month or a month and 1/2. She has to give him an enema, because he is backed up! This is such an awesome boy....sweet, kind, orderly, respectful (most of the time) ha ha. I just so wish there was SOMETHING that could be done. He is little for his age...has headaches, he has terrible eczema and ichthyosis vulgaris. Bad case. Very allergic to peanuts....etc. , some ongoing sinus problems.....I just can not stand to think about his future. I am old and would so die happy knowing his problem is solved. The parents have never been told a concrete medical condition for him not going to the toilet. He has no problem with urination....no enuresis. We do NOT know what else to do or what doctor to take him to. Adult doctor or pediatric? What kind.....gastroenterologist? I know this a LOT to read, but we so need your help? If you can offer anything, it will be so appreciated. My email address....if you need it....is YYYY@YYYY . Thank you.....Donna Wilson
