Hello,
The discoloration is due to bleeding and should resolve on its own but you can use some warm compresses to help speed up the process. They sometimes touch a nerve when they insert the needle and this can be responsible for the shock like feeling. That too will resolve but can take a few weeks, there is nothing you can do to speed up that process. Sorry this happened. Use some warm compresses and take ibuprofen if you are very uncomfortable.
Regards
