Hi..
Welcome to HCM..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern and discomfort your are facing and will try my level best to resolve it..
It seems that due to getting kicked on the shin there has been a sudden traumatic
injury and it has led to inflammation and swelling of the soft tissues and accumulation of inflammatory fluid in the area of injury..
Bruising is due to ruptured superficial blood vessels at the site of injury leading to accumulation of blood into the soft tissues and
hematoma formation..
Spreading of bruising to the ankle is due to downward flow of blood due to gravity and accumulation in lower spaces..
I would suggest you to continue icing the area 3 to 4 times a day..
You can take anti inflammatory painkiller like
Ibuprofen to relieve pain as well as reduce inflammation..
Apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the area to relieve pain..
You can elevate your leg while lying down..
Apply Thrombophob gel as it helps in faster fading of bruising..
In case of no improvement consult an Orthopedician and get evaluated and an
x ray can help in diagnosis..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
