Hello,

You have a small scar on your head since many years. Presently, it is becoming larger. Scars do grow with age, internal scare do not stop growing. You have not mentioned if it is causing you symptoms or you are bothered because it has become noticeable. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get blood workouts, tests, biopsy other imaging tests done (if required) to detect the pathology.

You will be treated accordingly. If the biopsy report shows malignancy, it will be given conservative treatment, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, etc. Neglect may cause worsening of the symptoms. However, all scars are not harmful, get examined and diagnosed. Do not touch, pop or scratch. Avoid exposure to bright sunlight. Stay away from addictions if any. Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
