How To Control The Ferritin Level Which Is 5.8?

I am 38 weeks pregnant and my ferritin level is 5.8... I have been on iron tablets all through my pregancy but it didnt help. my midwife told me that there is nothing that can be done now. I will need to sort it out after baby is born. I want to know that will this affect the birth or the baby in any way. Thank you

Hello,
Your mid wife is correct. Nothing to be done now. You need further tests after the pregnancy is over, to find out if you have any blood disorders.Normally it wont affect the baby unless there is any inherited or genetic hematologic condition like thallesemia.
