How Should Poison Ivy Eye Rash With Swelling And Itching Be Treated?

My ten year old son has a possible poison ivy rash above and below his eye. The eye lid is swelling and he keeps scratching it. Should I take him the doctor in the morning to make sure it doesn t get in his eye? Any suggestions or insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi...it could be an allergy or a conjunctivitis starting.... You can give him benadryl syrup 5ml thrice a day. But if the eye is becoming red or whitish eye discharge starts it could be a conjunctivitis... Wash with clean cold water... If jot settling in 48 hours... See your pediatrician.
