How Should Facial Acne Spots, Blackening, Seborrheic Dermatitis With Irritation Be Treated?

Hello there, I've never had a problem with Acne before but within the past month i've suddenly developed about 15 spots on my face, most of them are very big and red, while others are smaller puss-like spots. I've been using pan oxyl 5 which hasn't really helped at all. Some of the spots have now turned black, i don't know if that means they have now turned into black heads. I also suffer from sebhoreac dermititis and the drying effects of the pan oxl have irritated that. So now i have inflamed red dermtitis and loads of spots, i look a total mess and am scared of going out. Do you know if steroid creams help acne? i ask cos i sometimes use it for my dermititis when it gets really bad. Please help. Greg

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have facial acne spots, blackening, seborrheic dermatitis with irritation, Well this is very common problem. There can be many factors responsible for facial acne spots like hormonal changes , stress , oily skin and excessiv exposure to sun . I would suggest you to wash your face with face wash containing benzoyl peroxide then apply cream containing azelaic acid which is safe and very effective. If condition doesn't get better in a month then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment . Doctor may prescribe retinoid ointment and antibiotic like clindamycin. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables also drink plenty of water. Apply vitamin E before going to bed to fine texture of skin . Exfoliate your skin with non comedogenic exfoliant oncw a week to remove dead skin .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
