How Should Metoprolol Succinate Be Taken?

Hi, I used to take 1/2 tablet of 25 mg metoprolol tartrate twice a day: 1/2 tan every 12 hours for a total of 25mg in 24 hours. My doc just changed it to Metoprolol Succinate 25 mg. Can I take 1/2 of this type tab every 12 hours? The tabs I have are splitable as they have a scaring I don’t feel comfortable taking the entire 25 mg tab all together. I am taking this med for a-fib and irregular heartbeat
