Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. She has been taking 20 mg Olanzapine, 100 mg Sertraline but was not responding to treatment. Now she has been advised to take Olanzapine 5 mg, 50 mg Sertraline for tapering of doses and Clonotril 0.5 and 20 mg Nexotin. She has been responding to treatment but her negative symptoms are still persisting.

As per my opinion you should wait for at least a couple of weeks to see full effects of these drugs. Nexotin is safe to use and is free of serious side effects. The drug can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, restlessness as side effects but is better tolerated usually.

Clonotril is a benzodiazepine drug and the drug is known to cause dependence and it has high abuse potential. It is a very useful drug if used for short periods of time. Try not to give her that drug for long periods of time. Use on SOS basis gives best results.

Visit her psychiatrist if problem persists. Thanks, take care
