How Much Time Will It Take For The Wound To Heal Inside Since The Surrounding Area Is Swollen After Having Stitches?

I got a really deep cut about a month ago.. seven stitches inside and nine outside. The outside is healed but the inside still hurts when i walk. The area around the scar is swollen ( like a big bump ) and very hard so my concern is if cuts like these sometimes remain with such a swollen look or does it need more time to heal on the inside?
