How Many Times A Paracentesis Procedure Can Be Done In A Month?

My husband has had a paracentesis procedure done 5 times in the past 3 monhs. He is now going to go every 2 weeks to have this done. They have been taking 9 1/5 liters, but now the doctors say only 4 1/5 liters are to be removed. He had his last procedure done last Thurs. and is already filling up. How dangerous is this and is there a limit to how many times it can safely be done?

Hello,

The main point is not how dangerous it is but what's the exact cause of it. In my opinion he has a chronic disease which produces continuously and which needs frequently paracentesis. This cannot be avoid. It's not the best but it's the only way to help him unfortunately.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
