How Long Will It Take For The Swelling To Subside After Contrast IV Leakage On Hand?

My husband had an iv for a ct scan today. The contrast from the iv leaked into his hand and arm. It is very swollen, and the Dr. At the clinic sent him home, and told him to ice it and elevate, which we have been doing. My question is how long should it normally take for swelling to go away?

It must be only sprain. Ice compression and elevation of the part will take some time. You can take combiflam tablet for one week. If you are not satisfied then can go for second opinion.
