How Long Should Intimate Relations Be Avoided Post Recovering From Glandular Fever?
Hi, I recently had glandular fever (9th October- 17th October) and now I am feeling fine, doing sports and going to the gym. I also have a girlfriend. Both of us have been very careful as I really don t want her to get ill. The main question in that when is it completely safe for us to kiss again without me infecting her? Thank you Jack
Welcome to HCM I appreciate your concern for health of your girlfriend Glandular fever is caused by a virus and as you know it spreads through saliva.but it cant be said with surety that for how long one can shed the virus.it can be on and off for months.but once you have recovered the chances of spreading the infection is very low.as you have completely recovered from the symptoms for atleast two months,in my opinion you are safe now. I hope this will help Regards Dr Faeza
