How Long Should Vagifem Be Taken After A Prolapsed Bladder Surgery?

I am 78 years old. Approximately 5 years ago I had an operation for a prolapse bladder. I m almost certain the procedure was done using the mesh sling. I was prescribed Vagifem then because of thinning of skin lining the vagina. When I asked my doctor how long I should keep using it he said forever . My question is,do you agree with this?
