How Long I Have To Wait To Have Oral Sex Post Tooth Extraction?

I had a fractured tooth extracted on June 1st. Now I'm waiting for an implant. What I have read so far varies on how long I have to wait to give oral sex. Obviously this is somewhat important to me. If I have to wait a few months, I would like to prepare my partner. He would understand but wouldn't be happy about it. I would like to have a general answer of the best and worse case scenario rather than a personal opinion of each individual.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain if you have your tooth extracted you should wait to indulge into any oral sexual activity until the lesion formed after extraction heals..

It is necessary as any trauma caused to the healing lesion can lead to delay in healing as well as on provocation of lesion can lead to pain and bleeding as well as if the healing lesion dislodges from the socket you can experience a dry socket which is another non healing painful condition..

Same is to be followed when the healing takes place after implant placement..

Other reason to avoid oral sex after extraction or when you have a healing lesion is that any mild infection form the private part of your partner can invade the lesion and cause infection in mouth or any infection in mouth can vise versa infect the private part of your partner..

In both conditions prevention is better..

Hope this information helps..
