How Long Does Vaginal Bleeding Last After Pregnancy Termination?
Hi,Doctor I am 29 yrs old married woman.i have 2 daughters.I got to know I m pregnant with urine test and I wanted to discontinue ,so my gynaecologist gave me 2+4 pills to stop my pregnancy(my scan told me Iam 6weeks pregnant).till 15 days I was bleeding now it s 17th day ,it has reduced like my last day cycle.iam worried cos my doctor told me its abnormal.now my scanning reports says everything is clear .should I be worried??
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Bleeding after pregnancy termination by taking pills could some time continue for longer duration. It can take a couple of cycles for the periods to be back to normal. This happens based on the hormone response and its adaption back to normal. Intermittent spotting could continue for about 4 to 6 weeks. Since your ultrasound scan report says to be normal, then you could wait till your period regularizes. If this continues beyond four weeks, you need to get evaluated and treated by consulting Gynecologist. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
