How Long Does Spinal Tuberculosis Take To Get Cured?

Hello Doctor, I am confirmed to have spine TB. I have started the the ATT prescribed by the doctor from last 2 weeks. But the pain in back still persists though there is relief from the fever little bit. 1) Please suggest if I can continue with my office works and 2) what additional medicine should be taken for the pain ? 3) how much time will it take for the spine tb to cure?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Yes, surely you can continue work as it poses a little or no risk to the co-worker. As far as your pain is concerned, you should take both painkillers and muscle relaxant. If you are already taking them, then dose should be increased. If you are at maximum dose, then you will need strong medication. And for the spine to get cured, you will need treatment for at least 9-12 months with full compliance to the medication and taking them regularly. And don't forget to take vitamin B6 along with these medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Imran Zeb
