How Long Does Pain Take To Alleviate Post ORIF Ankle Surgery?

Hello!
I am now on week 7 after ORIF ankle surgery a metal plate with seven screws were placed on a side of an ankle for the fractured fibula and two big screws were placed in the Tibia bone. My dr said I can start partial weight bearing but I can't even press on it. it's swelling and when I try to press on it feels like a bullet was shot from my heel upwards to the tendon area, I also feel pain right after the toes and by the end of the plate edges.
Is this pain normal? How long can it take for me to be able to bear weight on it, it is really depressing.

Thank you

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if the condition is painful even after the seven weeks of surgery and it is the orthopedic case then it has to be seen for any post-operative complication it is advisable to have word with surgeon because it is not the normal pain hope this information helps.
