Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i went to the hospital three 72 hours ago for water intoxication. sodium was low. felt drunk. feeling is persisting today although less severe. not sure what to make of it. felt good for a moment htis morning before symptoms returned. have been very stressed throughout the experience and also detoxing from coffee. not sure how long symptoms of hyponatremia typically last. but this seems too long. liver function cbc renal function were all evaluated yesterday and were fine.
You have done some examinations and there were good. I think that now some more examinations should be done to get to know where is the problem that causes hyponatremia. You might need to doze Antidiuretic Hormone that can cause water collection in the body and than hyponatremia. You might need a lung examination too, because this may be related to lung disease.
I recommend you do a full examination and to see where the problem is and to fix it( hyponatremia may be just a sign of another disease).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Anila Skenderi
