How Long Does A Sprained Thumb Take To Heal?

I went to the doctors a couple days ago about a sprained thumb. They x-rayed my thumb and confirmed that it was sprained, but didn t show me an X-ray nor tell me what ligament or give me a paper, although they gave me a splint but didnt tell me how long to keep it on for. So i am trying to figure out if i sprained my ulnar or radial ligament in my thumb and how long it is going to take to heal. It hurts a little to grasp things between my index finger and thumb, but hurts more on the outside of my thumb if i try to move m thumb and there is pain and swelling and little bruising on the outside of my thumb by the joint.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, if this is the sprain of thump only then it will remains there only and no other part would be affected due to this and with the treatment it would be fine in week, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
