How Long Does Ferpill Take To Increase Sperm Count?
Hello Sir. We completed ✌ years of marriage. Now we planning for baby baby bpy but not able to concieve. Today we visited to doc and he recommend my husband to take ferpill m for a month. I just want to know how much time it takes to increase sperm counts. And low sperm count can be problem for female also, like harmone problem or etc??. I will be badly waiting for this answer Thanks Parul agarwal
There is nothing to worry about it. Ferpill (clomifene) is commonly prescribed to increase the sperm counts. It may take at least 3-4 months to get the optimal effect, as it takes 90-110 days from the time a sperm is made until it is ejaculated.
Yes, because of low sperm count you may not be able to conceive even if your lab tests including hormone levels and ultrasound are normal. See that your husband starts taking the treatment as prescribed and remember high doses of Ferpill can actually have a negative effect on sperm count and motility. So he needs to be continuously monitored by his doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
