How Long Can A Person With 15% Heart Function Live?
How long can a 72 yr old man with15% heart function live. A year ago he had a valve repaired. This year they put a wire from his pacemaker defibulator into his lefy heart muscle because it was so weak. It didnt help and his heart function went from 30 to 15 percent. He twice went back into the hospital with cobgestive heart failure. He has been out of the hospital for about 6 weeks now and seems to be doing ok.

Over all prognosis is depends upon the cardiac status and other vital functions it is not the percentage of function of heart that could be the criteria but over all heart function need to be taken into account like left ventricle function, ejection fraction and other echo data, some time even with this condition patient could complete the normal life span, take care.
