How Long After Breast Tumor Removal Should Letrozole Be Taken?

My mom is 87 years old and had stage 4 breast cancer back in 2013 which required the removal of her left breast. The doctor originally required her to take Letrozole daily. Please advise how long after surgery are you required to take this medication. Thanks YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

So if she is in stage 4, then letrozole needs to be taken till she develops disease progression. If she is not in stage 4, then up to 8 years is recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Deepak Sundriyal, Oncologist
