How Long Levolin Inhaler Should Be Used For A Child With Breathing Problem?
My 4.5 yrs old son, about 20kg body wt, is frequently suffering from flu, cough with breathing problem. As per doctor adviced we used LEVOLIN inhaler as and when require 2 puffs at 2/4/6 hours interval as general dose. During severe condition 5 puffs within 5 minutes (1puff in every minute) rest for 20 minutes again repeat the same dose 5 puffs/5minutes along with omnacortil forte syrup 3.5 ml BID, telecast L syrup 5 ml at bed time(He has completed all scheduled vaccines along with Influenza).so what is your valuable suggestion and how long we can use the LEVOLIN inhaler 5 puffs within 5 minutes.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of breathing problem which is due to upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with antibiotic such as augmentin along with decongestants and anti inflammatory such as Levocetirizine. Visit pediatrician once and get your child examined. You should get blood tests and sputum tests done. Levolin inhaler as given to child is a safe combination except it will make child drowsy. For now do warm saline gargles. Take steam inhalation. Take proper rest , keep yourself hydrated. Maintain hygiene. Take diet rich in multivitamins.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
