How Is Genital Herpes Transmitted?

I went to the doctors today and she said I may have genital herpes that is sexually transmitted orally, my boyfriend has never said that he has it and if he did he would have told me .. he got a cold sore maybe a month or two ago then 3 weeks later ish I got one and I never got one , I m only 17 so I had no awareness of this and we had oral sex and two weeks later (now) I may have genital herpes:( does that mean he has it too

Hi, genital herpes can be transmitted by sexual contact or may be skin to skin contact also. It can be transmitted even when there are no active lesions. There can be asymptomatic viral shedding
