How Is HIV Infection Transmitted?

Hi, I may be getting a bit paranoid... but I have a question about HIV. I had an encounter with a women yesterday and was wondering if there was any risk of HIV transfer (assuming she has HIV). No intercourse occurred but I did use baby oil and touched her vagina for a few minutes. I then straight away touched my penis and wanted to know if HIV could have been transferred this way. Also if using baby oil would kill the virus or make it survive longer.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM

I can understand your concern. The modes of spread of HIV virus are through sexual, direct blood to blood route or through mother to baby via placental blood. HIV doesn't spread by casual touching or by putting fingers in vagina. Even with oral intercourse the risk is minimal.

You touched her vagina and then touched the penis. HIV virus in when comes in contact with air dies in few seconds. So the risk of transmission in such scenario is almost nil. No need to worry. You are safe.

Thanks, Take care
