How Evasive Is A & P Procedure For Bladder?

I am experiencing bladder problems. I have been told that I need an A &P repair. How involved and evasive is this procedure. Is it a one time procedure or can it demand attention again? I have had a n appointment trying to be fitted with a Pesery but was not successful. Do you have some input about this procedure?
