How Dangerous Is 3rd Stage Verrucous Carcinoma?

Hi, My dad is diagnosed with verrucous carcinoma. The doctor explained that its in 3rd stage. He did a chemo, took a blood test. told us to come back on 21st for another chemo. he asked us to do an operation of the mouth, and also send the samples from neck to know the depth of infection. How dangerous is this ? what do you suggest ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

This type of carcinoma is not serious if it is treated surgically. If not, then chemotherapy or radiation therapy is used but success is much less than with surgery. 3rd stage is advanced but still treatable disease so he should follow oncologist recommendations.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
