How Common Is Hardening Of The Pectoral Muscle In Women My Age ?

I feel a lump in my breast and have seen my OB GYN. She set up an appointment for me to have a diagnostic mammogram followed by an ultra sound. During the examine she said it did not feel like a lump and might be hardening of the pectoral muscle. I am 56 years old with no history of breast cancer in my family. How common is hardening of the pectoral muscle in women my age?

THanks for the query
Hardening of the muscle is nothing put calcification and it is quite common. The lump from a calcification is very different from the breast cancer which tends to a be little more softer and less smooth than a calcification, with clinical experience u can easily differentiate the two
Since u have no breast cancer family history, u r less likely to have it.
I am happy u r taking care of yourself. Keep it up
