How Can Vaginal Yeast Infection During Pregnancy Be Treated?

Hi, I m 7 months pregnant and found out about a month ago that I had an yeast infection. I got treated with canestan vaginal tablets and antibiotics and I also treated my partner, after I finish the treatment we decided to have sex but there was a unusual burning turning and after sex. Then we notice that the yeast infection came back so I treated myself again with the canestan vaginal cream this time along with the antibiotics again but it didn t seems to be getting any better. And it s going on 3 weeks now. Can you please tell me how to get rid of the yeast infection without harming the baby.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can use over the counter anti fungal cream to treat yeast infections. These can take from 1 to 7 days. I also suggest a good hygiene. You should wash and dry the area frequently. You should also use cotton underwear.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
