How Can Transient Ischemic Attack Be Treated?

90 year old mother is having what most agree is TIA. Several over the last two months with a hospital stay and Plavix for six weeks. Her main symptoms are slurred speach and a body lean to the right when standing. Symptoms last about an hour. The body lean has me confused. It is not mentioned anywhere related to stoke or TIA. Could this be something else?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your mother might be having symptoms hinting towards stroke. it is important to identify it through various investigations like an MRI and carotid ultrasound with a neurology opinion and ophthalmology opinion to rule out malignant hypertension.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
