Hi,

The requirement of surgery in ACL injuries varies from patient to patient and depends on the patient's activity level, the degree of injury and instability symptoms.

Grade 2 MCL injuries are treated in a hinged brace, usually set to allow 30-90° of motion for 4-6 weeks. MCL is allowed to heal on its own, so as to avoid the risks and complications that would be associated with surgery.

ACL injuries usually do not heal and hence, ACL reconstruction surgery may need to be considered.

Kindly take the treatment as recommended by your doctor and do the necessary follow-up as advised.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
