How Can Toe Pain Caused By An Injury Be Treated?

Hello, My older brother was running and stepped on my toe and ripped half of my toe nail off and its been hurting for about 2 weeks now and it doesn't seem to be healing and it keeps oozing a clear liquid. It hurts to walk or put on shoes and I don't know what to do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As a physician I would like to tell you that there could have been a infection below the toe nail. Thus your brother needs to be examined clinically for extent of injury and prescribed antibiotics as needed. Till then he can take Tab aceclofenac for the pain. But do take him to a physician to get a look at the injury. Also, keep the leg dry and don't wet it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
