How Can Swelling And Pain In The Hip Be Treated?

I slipped on the ice last month and injured my right hip. I ve been doing physio for it for a few weeks. And this past Thursday I slipped getting out of the tub and injured the same hip as well as my groin. It feels swollen and I can feel a sharp, dull, throbbing and aching pain. On a pain scale of 1 to 10 it s at an 8.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As the first line of management, you can take analgesics and apply ice packs for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopedician and go for an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
