Hi,

Well, it takes time for the bruising to subside as it occurs due to the accumulation of blood from ruptured blood vessels into the soft tissues due to injury.

If not possible to elevate all the time better do not keep it hanging towards gravity and better keep it well supported. Also, keep icing it to reduce swelling and pain. You can also take painkiller of pain is severe after consulting the ER.

You can also apply Heparin based gel like Thrombophob. Do not exert too much as it can worsen the pain and other symptoms. In case if there is no improvement in a week or there is worsening consult a Physician and get checked.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
